You can avoid the monthly fee. A Blink Sync Module 2 with your own USB drive stores clips locally for free, a one-time toll instead of a forever fee. Without it, saving and reviewing recorded clips needs a Blink plan, about $4 a month per camera. Either way the camera still needs Wi-Fi and the Blink app to work; the local storage saves the fee, not the internet.
