How Joe Tries makes money
Short version: some buying links earn us a commission, the data is never for sale, and money never touches a verdict. Here is the long version.
Affiliate links
When a product page shows "Where to buy," some of those links are affiliate links. If you click one and buy, the retailer pays us a small commission. It never changes the price you pay. We mark this on every page where it applies with the line "We may earn a commission. It never changes your price."
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Commissions do not influence which products appear in the catalog, what their specs say, how they rank, or anything Joe writes about them. Products earn their place by being real, current, and verifiable, not by paying better.
Where the product data comes from
Every published product is confirmed against its manufacturer's page: the spec, the price, and the image, with the date we checked it shown on the product page. Compatibility claims are cross-checked against open community resources, including Zigbee2MQTT, Blakadder, the CSA Matter certification ledger, and the Z-Wave Alliance. When sources disagree, the manufacturer is the final word. When a page does not state something, we leave it blank rather than guess.
What we do not do
We do not sell the catalog data. We do not run sponsored placements or paid rankings. We do not accept payment to publish, feature, or score a product. If any of that ever changes, this page will say so first.
