Discontinued
$140
Battery and solar panel camera in the backyard. Wire-free placement.
Before you buy
Needs the cloud
Good fit if you use Amazon Alexa or Ring.
- Runs on Ring's cloud and app. If that service goes down or shuts off, the device stops working.
- No longer made. You can still find it, but firmware updates and support may end.
Works with
Works with Amazon Alexa, Ring out of the box, no hub needed.
RingAmazon Alexa
✓ full support (native, Matter, or a built-in integration).
Run a different system? Find an outdoor camera that works with Google Home or Apple Home.
Subscription
- Video recording & saved clips needs Ring Solo ($4.99/mo). Live view and motion notifications work without a plan; recorded video needs a subscription.
Joe should know
Without a Ring subscription (Ring Solo is the cheapest tier) you still get live view, motion alerts, and two-way talk, but nothing is recorded, so you cannot go back and watch a clip you missed. Saved video and person alerts start around $5 a month for one device.
