Before you buy
Runs locally through a hub
Good fit if you use Apple Home.
- Will not work on its own. Needs a compatible hub (extra cost).
- No longer made. You can still find it, but firmware updates and support may end.
Hub requiredMatter device
Needs a hub first, then works with Apple Home.
Needs an Apple Thread border router (HomePod mini or Apple TV 4K) and works only in Apple Home. No Wemo app, no Alexa or Google.
Once it is on a hub, control it from:
Apple Home
✓ full support (native, Matter, or a built-in integration).
Run a different system? Find a smart plug that works with Alexa or Google Home.
Joe should know
Belkin shut down the Wemo app and cloud on January 31, 2026, and exited the Wemo line. This plug is the survivor: it runs locally over Thread with Apple Home, no Wemo cloud involved. The old Wemo app path, Alexa, and Google Home are gone.
