Mini split controllers
A mini split controller makes a ductless head or a window unit respond to a schedule instead of a remote. The two paths are very different: an IR blaster that mimics the remote, or a wired module that talks to the unit directly.

What decides compatibility
- IR controllers need line of sight and cannot read the unit's real state, so they can get out of sync with it.
- Wired controllers plug into the indoor unit's control port and know the actual state. They need a supported brand and usually a panel to come off.
- Confirm your exact indoor unit model is on the compatibility list. Brand-level support is not enough here.
