Smart thermostats compatible with Alexa
Yes, 12 smart thermostats in our catalog work with Alexa. The wiring in your wall decides more than Alexa does: most need a C-wire, and many older furnaces do not have one at the thermostat.
Almost every Wi-Fi thermostat works with Alexa, so compatibility is rarely the problem. The problem is behind the thermostat: most need a C-wire for constant power, and many older homes do not have one at the thermostat, so budget for an adapter or an electrician. Alexa handles voice control and simple routines; schedules, eco modes, and remote sensors stay in the maker's app. Nest thermostats reach Alexa through your Google account, which has worked for years but is a cloud-to-cloud path.

Check these before you buy
- Pull your current thermostat off the wall (power off) and count the wires. A C wire, or a spare wire you can use as one, saves you an adapter. The maker's compatibility checker is worth the five minutes.
- Decide what you want Alexa for. Setting a temperature by voice works everywhere; changing the schedule or the mode usually means opening the maker's app.
- Heat pumps, multi-stage systems, and line-voltage baseboard heat each rule out some thermostats. Check your system type before you check Alexa.
Connects directly 6
The maker built this connection to Alexa. Some of these still need the maker's own hub, and the line under each product says so.

Connects through Matter 6
These join Alexa through Matter, a shared standard, so no maker's cloud sits in the middle. The ones that use Thread also need a Thread border router, a radio built into some smart speakers and hubs.

Not on this list?
That does not mean it will not work with Alexa. It means we have not confirmed a path for it yet, and we add connections as we confirm them against the maker's documentation. How we check
