Smart locks compatible with SmartThings
Yes, 14 smart locks in our catalog work with SmartThings, and the Z-Wave and Zigbee ones pair straight to the hub. Check your hub's radios first: not every SmartThings hub has Z-Wave.
SmartThings pairs Z-Wave and Zigbee locks directly, with no maker's bridge, as long as your hub has that radio, and not every SmartThings hub has Z-Wave. Matter locks pair directly too, on a hub that supports Matter. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth locks from brands with their own app reach SmartThings through a cloud link between the two accounts, so they depend on both services staying up. A lock paired directly can usually have its codes managed from SmartThings itself, which is the main reason to skip the maker's cloud.

Check these before you buy
- Look up your exact hub model for a Z-Wave radio before buying a Z-Wave lock. The SmartThings Station, for one, has no Z-Wave.
- Pair a Z-Wave lock within a few feet of the hub, then mount it. Secure pairing fails more often at a distance.
- A lock linked through the maker's cloud shows lock, unlock, and status. Managing codes usually still means the maker's app.
Connects directly 4
The maker built this connection to SmartThings. Some of these still need the maker's own hub, and the line under each product says so.

Z-Wave Plus chip built in; pairs with a Z-Wave hub for remote control

Hub required.

Bluetooth app control is built in. Ecosystem support needs an optional Yale Smart Module (Wi-Fi, Z-Wave, Zigbee, or HomeKit), sold separately.

Bluetooth app control works without a hub; the Z-Wave Smart Module needs a Z-Wave hub for remote access and voice.
Connects through Matter 8
These join SmartThings through Matter, a shared standard, so no maker's cloud sits in the middle. The ones that use Thread also need a Thread border router, a radio built into some smart speakers and hubs.

Powered by Matter over Thread; needs a Thread-enabled Matter controller. Some SKUs (DL-D06D/DL-D16D) bundle the Aqara Hub M100.

Matter over Wi-Fi; works standalone via the brand app, or add to any Matter controller.

Hub: Bluetooth direct; Matter controller for remote/fabric control

Hub: Wi-Fi direct; Matter controller optional for Matter fabric

Hub: Wi-Fi direct; Matter controller optional for Matter fabric

Hub: Thread border router + Matter controller

Built-in Wi-Fi, no hub needed; CSA Matter (over Wi-Fi) connects directly to Apple Home and other ecosystems.

Needs a hub first 2
These reach SmartThings only through a hub, usually the maker's own. If you do not own that hub yet, add its price to the device's.
Not on this list?
That does not mean it will not work with SmartThings. It means we have not confirmed a path for it yet, and we add connections as we confirm them against the maker's documentation. How we check
