Smart locks compatible with Google Home
Yes, 47 smart locks in our catalog work with Google Home. Locking by voice works; unlocking by voice needs a spoken PIN, and some brands leave it off.
Wi-Fi locks connect to Google Home with nothing extra. Bluetooth-only locks need the maker's Wi-Fi bridge, and Z-Wave locks need a hub with a Z-Wave radio, because Nest speakers and displays have no Z-Wave radio. Matter locks pair directly, and the Thread ones need a Thread border router, which some Nest displays and the Google TV Streamer have built in. Unlocking by voice is the part to think about: Google asks for a PIN each time, and anyone in earshot hears it.

Check these before you buy
- Bluetooth-only locks need the maker's Wi-Fi bridge for Google Home and for remote access. Add its price to the lock's.
- Decide whether you want voice unlock. Many people use voice only to lock and to check, and open the door from the app or a code.
- Wi-Fi locks drain batteries faster than Bluetooth, Z-Wave, or Thread locks. Check the rated battery life before you pick one for a door you use all day.
Connects directly 27
The maker built this connection to Google Home. Some of these still need the maker's own hub, and the line under each product says so.

Bluetooth app control is built in. Ecosystem support needs an optional Yale Smart Module (Wi-Fi, Z-Wave, Zigbee, or HomeKit), sold separately.

Bluetooth app control works without a hub; the Z-Wave Smart Module needs a Z-Wave hub for remote access and voice.
Connects through Matter 8
These join Google Home through Matter, a shared standard, so no maker's cloud sits in the middle. The ones that use Thread also need a Thread border router, a radio built into some smart speakers and hubs.

Powered by Matter over Thread; needs a Thread-enabled Matter controller. Some SKUs (DL-D06D/DL-D16D) bundle the Aqara Hub M100.

Matter over Wi-Fi; works standalone via the brand app, or add to any Matter controller.

That does not mean it will not work with Google Home. It means we have not confirmed a path for it yet, and we add connections as we confirm them against the maker's documentation. How we check
