Smart locks compatible with Apple Home
Yes, 16 smart locks in our catalog work with Apple Home. All of them lock and unlock from the Home app; only a few support home key, the tap-to-unlock with your iPhone or Apple Watch.
A HomeKit lock works from your iPhone over Bluetooth when you are at the door. Everything else, remote access, automations, and Siri from a HomePod, needs a home hub: a HomePod or an Apple TV in the Home app. Matter locks pair directly, and the Thread ones need a Thread border router, which a HomePod mini, HomePod (2nd generation), or recent Apple TV 4K is. Home key, the tap of your iPhone or Watch that unlocks the door, is a separate feature only some locks have, so do not assume it from the HomeKit logo.

Check these before you buy
- Make sure you have a home hub (a HomePod or Apple TV) if you want to lock up from away from home or have the door lock itself at night.
- Want tap-to-unlock? Look for home key support by name on the maker's page. Most HomeKit locks do not have it.
- A Matter lock gives Apple Home lock, unlock, and status. Managing guest codes and auto-lock timing usually still means the maker's app.
Connects directly 4
The maker built this connection to Apple Home. Some of these still need the maker's own hub, and the line under each product says so.

Hub: August Connect Wi-Fi Bridge for remote

Hub: HomePod/AppleTV

Hub: Thread border router + Matter controller

Hub: Schlage Sense Wi-Fi Adapter for remote
Connects through Matter 9
These join Apple Home through Matter, a shared standard, so no maker's cloud sits in the middle. The ones that use Thread also need a Thread border router, a radio built into some smart speakers and hubs.

Works standalone via Bluetooth and keypad; an Aqara hub adds remote access, HomeKit, and Matter.

Hub: Thread border router + Matter controller

Powered by Matter over Thread; needs a Thread-enabled Matter controller. Some SKUs (DL-D06D/DL-D16D) bundle the Aqara Hub M100.

Matter over Wi-Fi; works standalone via the brand app, or add to any Matter controller.

Hub: Bluetooth direct; Matter controller for remote/fabric control

Hub: Wi-Fi direct; Matter controller optional for Matter fabric

Built-in Wi-Fi, no hub needed; CSA Matter (over Wi-Fi) connects directly to Apple Home and other ecosystems.

Needs a hub first 3
These reach Apple Home only through a hub, usually the maker's own. If you do not own that hub yet, add its price to the device's.

Works standalone via Bluetooth and keypad; a SwitchBot Hub adds Wi-Fi remote access and voice assistants.

Works over Bluetooth for local unlock; a SwitchBot Hub adds Wi-Fi remote access plus Matter/Alexa/Google/HomeKit.

Bluetooth app control works without a hub; the Z-Wave Smart Module needs a Z-Wave hub for remote access and voice.

That does not mean it will not work with Apple Home. It means we have not confirmed a path for it yet, and we add connections as we confirm them against the maker's documentation. How we check
