Smart plugs compatible with Apple Home
Yes, 23 smart plugs in our catalog work with Apple Home, and most pair with nothing extra. The ones on Thread need a HomePod or Apple TV in the house first.
Smart plugs are where Apple Home used to cost extra: the cheap Wi-Fi plugs that work with Alexa and Google Home often skipped HomeKit. Matter fixed most of that, since a Matter plug pairs into Apple Home directly, no bridge and no maker's account. Thread plugs need a Thread border router, which a HomePod mini, HomePod (2nd generation), or recent Apple TV 4K is. One catch stays: power-use readings from a plug usually show only in the maker's app, not in the Home app.

Check these before you buy
- If the plug uses Thread, confirm you own a HomePod mini, a HomePod (2nd generation), or an Apple TV 4K from 2021 or later with an Ethernet port. Without one it will not pair.
- Check the load rating against what you plan to plug in. Space heaters and window air conditioners draw more than many plugs are rated for.
- Automations and remote control need a home hub, the same HomePod or Apple TV, even for a Wi-Fi plug.
Connects directly 5
The maker built this connection to Apple Home. Some of these still need the maker's own hub, and the line under each product says so.

Connects through Matter 17
These join Apple Home through Matter, a shared standard, so no maker's cloud sits in the middle. The ones that use Thread also need a Thread border router, a radio built into some smart speakers and hubs.

Needs a hub first 1
These reach Apple Home only through a hub, usually the maker's own. If you do not own that hub yet, add its price to the device's.
Not on this list?
That does not mean it will not work with Apple Home. It means we have not confirmed a path for it yet, and we add connections as we confirm them against the maker's documentation. How we check
